CFA piles

CFA Piles are drilled piles (Continuous Flight Auger) that are cast with controlled-pressure concrete, and executed – thanks to the continuous auger – without the aid of bentonite.

The drilling tool consists of a continuous auger, equivalent in length to the excavation to be made, connected to a rotary head.

When the planned depth is reached, the concrete is pumped under pressure from the bottom up through the centre tube of the auger (CFA system), and said auger is simultaneously lifted. Casting is carried out under controlled pressure, thus achieving increased lateral pile-soil adhesion.

This operation continues up to the ground level, and when the pour is completed, a reinforcement cage is laid in the fresh concrete.
